Chilled Nutella Pie
Ingredients:
For the pie:
1 Oreo cookie pie crust
1 8oz package cream cheese
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup Nutella
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup Cool Whip
For the topping:
1/2 cup Cool Whip or more
Any chocolate goodie such as morsels, Oreo crumbs, or chocolate shell ice cream topping
Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add Nutella, vanilla, and Cool Whip one at a time, blending well between additions. Spoon into Oreo crust. Spread Cool Whip over entire pie and sprinkle and/or drizzle topping(s) on top. Place in freezer for at least two hours to set. Before serving, allow to slightly defrost in refrigerator for about an hour.
Tastes great with the low-fat or light cream cheese and Cool Whip. I also use more than 1/2 cup Cool Whip to top the pie. I'll usually just use the remaining Cool Whip that's in the tub. And have fun with the topping too. For Halloween, I add orange food coloring to the Cool Whip and with the magic shell I'll make a spider web design.
