Apple Pie Of Roses
Ingredients:
For The Dough:
125 Grams of soft butter
Powdered Sugar
1 egg
1 Vanilla
1 teaspoon of grated orange peel
100 g. finely ground almonds
150 g flour
For the cream:
400 ml milk
100 ml white wine
3 egg yolks
1 vanilla
1 teaspoon of grated orange peel
6 tablespoons of sugar
4 tablespoons of flour
At their Peak 5-6 apples
Directions:
Mix butter with sugar, vanilla and orange peel. Add egg and almond. Flour knead a soft dough. Add it gradually. *Spread dough in small pan 22/24 cm. as before and brush pan with butter and then sprinkle with flour. Then cover pan with baking paper. Put the pan into the refrigerator while preparing the cream.
For The Cream:
Mix the flour with the sugar, vanilla and orange peel. Add the egg yolks and a little milk. Stir to a smooth pulp. Pour the remaining milk and wine. Boil the cream and let it cool. Optionally, you can use some instant cream or vanilla pudding. *With vegetable peeler make strips of apples without removing their bark (skin).
*Make rosettes using apple strips and form into a rose petal. Place rosettes on top of shortbread and then pour cream over apple roses (rosettes).
*Pour Sauteed lightly warm apricot jelly over Roses(rosettes).
Bake In a pre-heated oven 180 degrees. Making the dough and apples golden.
Serve the cake completely cooled.
