Traditionally a holiday treat, but why wait? You can create these rich, flavorful Fudge Rum Balls all year long using Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Fudge Cake Mix.
Ingredients:
- 1 package Duncan Hines® Classic Butter Recipe Fudge Cake Mix
- Water, oil and eggs called for on cake mix package
- 1⅔ cups finely chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 Tbsp. rum extract
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- Preheat oven to 350 °F. Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Prepare and bake cake with water, oil and eggs. Cool cake slightly.
- Crumble cake into large bowl. Stir with fork until crumbs are fine and uniform in size. Add 1 cup nuts, rum extract, confectioners' sugar and cocoa. Stir until well blended.
- Shape cake crumb mixture into 1-inch balls.
- Roll into remaining pecans, pressing firmly to adhere nuts..
- Variation: Substitute rum for rum extract.
