Cranberry-Apple Chutney

Prep Time: 20min Cook Time: 35min Course: Condiments 16 Servings

This versatile chutney is the perfect addition to your holiday dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 1-1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2 large tart apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1-1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
Directions:
  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring sugar and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes.
  2. Carefully stir in the cranberries, apples, onion, raisins, brown sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and salt.
  3. Return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until desired thickness, stirring occasionally.
  4. Just before serving, stir in walnuts. Serve warm or cold.
