Ingredients:
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. hot water
2 egg whites
2 tsp. vanilla
You may add 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or Pecans or 1/4 c. candied cherries
Directions:
Cook sugar, water and syrup until it forms a hard, brittle ball in cold water and makes a clean break when struck against the side of a cup. Pour syrup slowly over egg whites which have been beaten stiff. Then beat constantly. Add nuts and vanilla also fruit, if desired. Beat until creamy. With teaspoon or soup spoon, drop divinity on greased plate.
