This versatile chutney is the perfect addition to your holiday dinner.
Ingredients:- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
- 2 large tart apples, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1-1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring sugar and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes.
- Carefully stir in the cranberries, apples, onion, raisins, brown sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and salt.
- Return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until desired thickness, stirring occasionally.
- Just before serving, stir in walnuts. Serve warm or cold.
